Just like us humans, chickens need a safe place to sleep. But unlike us or other animals, they are looking for a chicken coop as their favorite place to stay. So in addition to building a chicken coop, producing a good rooster is also part of the process – but a very nice part of the process!
The advantage of chicken roses is that there are dozens of possibilities and variations that can be used! Tree branches, 2 x 2 planks, 2 x 4 planks and more are most commonly used. Other ideas may include: wooden fence posts, sawing wood for your cabin and much more.
The best chicken coop is round or slightly rounded in relation to the square shape, as this allows them to hold on better. The illustration below shows some of the most common and easily accessible ideas for chicken houses used by most chicken farmers.

For my own chicken coop I used a 2 x 4 and rounded off the two tops with a circular saw, and they work like champions. There’s no need to round off gradually, but I’ve noticed that they can compress the bush better when it’s a bit rounded. Here’s a look at my cock and the path to the cock.

I made sure that when I entered the chicken coop, I put down roots where the manure wouldn’t prevent me from cleaning it from my shoes after I entered the coop. Depending on the type of poultry house you build, you may also consider placing roses where you can easily remove litter.
Where to buy roses
If you don’t want to interrupt the chicken coop, you can buy it in your farm shop or online. Buying a part can cost a little more than making it yourself, but it also saves a lot of time… something to think about in our busy lives!
How long should the noose last?
To estimate the length of the required crane, keep in mind that each hen needs about 8 to 12 centimetres of crane space. The more space, the better. But from what I’ve seen, even if you had a 30-yard space for a chicken coop, they’d probably crawl together, wouldn’t they? Think of something!
Maybe it’s because it can get a little cold in the chicken coop at night, or maybe it’s because they feel so safe… I’m just curious.
Stairs for chickens
Chickens seem to want to rest higher up in the henhouse at night, so I placed mine about five meters off the ground. Then I built a staircase (or sidewalk) leading to the bush. Because we cut off their wings (a little more at this point), they depend on walking instead of flying, although they can still fly a short distance.
So I thought it would be more practical for my herd to build a slope to get into the henhouse. The design of the ladder is very simple: it is a 7-inch wide (or wider) plank that rises diagonally from the floor to the bench, with interchangeable steps that are nailed down and placed approximately every 5 inches – just enough to get up as you climb up. The picture also gives a good idea for an easy to use tile – very smart and perhaps less difficult to make! (See image below)
Let’s go back to cutting the wings, just for a moment – we cut the outer part of the wings – only on one side. Don’t worry, it has nothing to do with the chickens’ pain, and it stops them from flying. The wings are attached to the outer part of the wing where there is no blood supply. At first we didn’t cut their wings off because we thought it would hurt them.
But they were still flying over the fence and we lost one of them to the neighbor’s dog. In this way the wing and thus the ramp are sawn from the ground to the henhouse. Below you can see an excellent illustration of the part of the wing on Chicken’s backyard.

What not to be used in the rose
Most of the most common roses are listed above and are made of wood, which seems to be the best material. It is quite difficult to bear the weight of the birds and also allows you to hold something for the chicks.
There are many other materials that resemble wood, such as 3-inch PVC tube or round steel posts. But these materials are not the best.
The plastic tube is too slippery for the chicks to grab. In addition, the tube is sufficiently flexible and can be bent more easily in the middle of the span if the tube is long.

Steel is also not the best material because it is very cold in winter and if you live in a cold climate it can cause your legs to freeze.

As you can see, buying, building or finding a chicken or rooster is very easy. They can be built from the many materials you have around you! You can cut a branch of a tree in the yard… or check if there are 2 x 4 stray animals in the garage. Building a chicken coop is one of the easiest but also most satisfying tasks when building a chicken coop!
